Roush Stage 3 Mustang makes 750hp - The most powerful Roush Mustang ever

Roush Stage 3 Mustang makes 750hp - The most powerful Roush Mustang ever, with a warranty? Where do we sign?!

Tuned Mustangs are almost as old as the car itself, with more than half a century of hot rodding history now behind Ford's most famous nameplate. Roush has always been one of the more prominent names in the business, racing since the 70s and building roadgoing Mustangs with that expertise for 25 years now. To mark that quarter-century, Roush has built its maddest Mustang yet.

'2021 Roush Stage 3' sound innocuous enough, but in terms of numbers it's very serious indeed. The supercharged 5.0-litre V8 makes 750hp, and can optionally be extended to 775hp. In conjunction with an enormous 670lb ft of torque, Roush reckons its Stage 3 car can reach 60mph in 3.6 seconds and the quarter-mile in 11.2. It isn't clear which Mustang transmission achieves those best times, though Roush is offering the kit for both the six-speed manual and 10-speed automatic cars.

As is the way with Roush packages, this latest Mustang is an awful lot more than just a shrieking supercharger. It's described as nothing less than "the ultimate driving experience", with bespoke MagneRide dampers and Continental ExtremeContact Sport tyres contributing to more than 1g of cornering force. Surprisingly, brakes aren't upgraded as part of the 750hp goody bag, so it might be worth also investing in the optional Podium Package, which has a better disc and pad included.

Roush will go further than that, too, with a whole raft of interior extras available. Whether billet pedals, embroidered floor mats and amaretto leather appeals quite as much as 750hp is up to you, but the choice is there at least.

Quite incredibly, Roush offers the Stage 3 box of tricks in the USA for just $25k plus the donor vehicle. And it backs up all powertrain work with a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty. Which, quite frankly, sounds like a win-win situation. Because even if it is a bit too much power for a Mustang to handle, it'd surely be quite good fun finding out exactly how much. Just not at a Cars and Coffee meet, ok?
