Ford introduces the Automatic variant of the Focus ST
Ford recently announced the details of the Ford Focus ST automatic variant, which will be available with a petrol engine on both model variants; the hatchback and the estate. The seven speed intelligent automatic transmission variant will join the six speed manual gearbox on the market.
Built to maximise flexibility, the Adaptive Shift Scheduling alters the gearshift timings depending on different driving styles which in turn, optimises the performance whether you are driving on the road or the track. Gears can be selected manually using the paddle shifters that are mounted on the steering wheel. These paddle shifts, which are normally found on high end sports cars, is designed for efficient gear changing, particularly when cornering. This race inspired technology puts swift, effortless gear changes at your fingertips.
The Ford Focus ST offers more power than every before, with a 2.3 litre engine that delivers speeds of 62mph in just six seconds and Electronic Limited Slip Differential for superior performance and stability.
The sport design is appealing, with the split, twin exit exhaust and steeply angled rear spoiler for improved dynamics.
